HISTORY

Roland Desmond inherited his late brother Mark's super-villain alias "Blockbuster" after a debilitating malady forced Roland to be treated with experimental steroids.  Like his sibling, Roland became a mindless muscle-bound behemoth.  But a bargain struck with evil forces (Neron during "Underworld Unleashed" ) elevated Roland's intellect to genius level, which he soon put to work establishing a criminal empire within Bludhaven - a city bereft of heroes - as a beachhead for a planned domination of Gotham City's Underworld.  Despite a swift and vicious consolidation of power, Blockbuster's hold on Bludhaven's organized crime has nevertheless been weakened with Nightwing fouling his plans at every turn.  Thus, Blockbuster's primary goal has been to eliminate the young vigilante in order to insure the longevity of his criminal cartel - a future he may not live to see with an enlarged heart threatening to cut short his own life. Blockbuster possesses superhuman strength and stamina, as well as a degree of imperviousness to physical harm.  Desmond's transformation may have triggered incipient albinism and other latent infirmities, including his defective heart.

Blockbuster recently hired the cyber hackers known as "The Psyba-Rats" to invaded the Justice Cave, headquarters of Young Justice and erase all information regarding himself and to make a copy of the computer information for his empire.  After Young Justice and "The Psyba-Rats" came to an understanding, "The Psyba-Rats" uploaded a virus into the system of Blockbuster's computer erasing all the information he had.
