HISTORY

According to the his own story, Rip Roar and his rival Kalibak, the son of the "dark god" (a.k.a. Darkseid) were sent to find tribute for their master. Rip Roar succeeded first, brazenly stealing a sentient "Super-Cycle" from the "home of the light" (a.k.a. New Genesis). They apparently bonded during their time together, laying waste to many planets. Realizing that the would be viewed favorably by Darkseid, Kalibak enlisted Desaad the torturer in sabotaging Rip Roar's Boom Tube, making the tube exit deep within the heart of a mountain. Before Kalibak could take Rip Roar's cycle as his own, its disappeared, hiding itself within the earth for over two thousand years. Having foreseen this eventuality, Rip Roar programmed the Cycle to seek out and rescue him.

After Superboy, Robin and Impulse, A.K.A. Young Justice, found the mysterious Super-Cycle, the bike, dragged the team of heroes all over the world in search of his former master. As the boys and the cycle came towards the "Temple of Ali Ben Styne," the Super-Cycle's Pulse Cannon, fired at the mountain above the temple, creating a lava flow, that freed Rip Roar from his mountain cell.

After a quick battle with the Superboy and Impulse, the real ending of the fight came down to a test of loyalty between Robin, The Super-Cycle and Rip Roar. After the Super-Cycle chose Robin over Rip Roar, Rip Roar felt as since the Super-Cycle, had been branded with his genetic signature, Rip Roar felt as if he'd reject himself in a small way. With the aid of Red Tornado, Young Justice subdued Rip Roar by encasing him in lava. Rip Roar was last seen, being removed from the mountain, and becoming a prisoner of the D.E.O.
